Roseville Chamber Assists in Preventing State Raid of Local Funds

The Roseville Chamber of Commerce has been gathering signatures to place an initiative on the November 2010 ballot that would prohibit the state of California from borrowing or re-directing local transportation and government project funds.  The Roseville Chamber’s Revitalization, Government Relations and Economic Development Committees as well as their Board of Directors all participated in the signature gathering process that began in January of 2010.

On Thursday, April 15th, Roseville Chamber CEO Wendy Gerig proudly delivered hundreds of signatures to the League of California Cities to be pooled with those gathered from other cities, chambers of commerce and citizen groups throughout California.

“The task of gathering signatures was a “no brainer” – everyone is fed up with the State of California raiding our local funds to balance their budget…”

~Wendy Gerig, CEO – Roseville Chamber of Commerce

  1. Thanks to the Chamber for putting the effort behind making us aware and gathering the signatures. I signed that petition and appreciate that you made it so easy for me to make my voice heard.

  2. I am glad to be part of a city and Chamber of Commerce that is fighting this piracy by the state.
